David Albert is Board Chair of Friendly Water for the World. He has worked around the world with marginalized and disadvantaged communities to help them ensure their own clean water, and to work towards community self-sufficiency. He is also the founder of New Society Publishers (and among the founders of Quakers United in Publishing - QUIP), and has worked on and off in south India for 42 years on issues related to land reform for the poor. He is a member of Olympia (Washington) Friends Meeting.
